Obstacles. We all have them. We don’t know what to do with them. Do we go around them, do we walk in the other direction, do we attempt to fight the good fight to overcome them?

For every problem, there is a solution. That said, the solution is usually never what you expect it to be.

When you see the obstacle – be it a person, a place, or a thing – why is it there in front of you?

You asked for guidance in your heart, now you have a roadblock.

What will you gain from fighting the good fight to overcome your obstacle? What will you lose? What will be the cost, the fallout, to you, and possibly your family?

You ALWAYS have a choice.

The choice may not be one you want, but it may be one you need. Your choice may turn your world upside down, inside out, and sideways, landing you on your feet in a different direction you never considered. Sometimes that is what needs to happen for you to be on your path, to find what you need.

Keeping in mind that what you need, and what you think you want (or need), are usually two very different things.

I am grateful for the gifts I have been given. I am grateful for my family, my friends, and my writing. I am surprised at the different roadblocks which have appeared before me on many occasions. I do my best to learn from them, which takes time and effort, as well as patience.

I find that my learning happens when I am presented (or confronted, depending upon your point of view) with an idea, a different perspective, a different way of doing things – and from there I have to take time to digest the idea, get used to it, get to know it, try to figure out what the ramifications are.

Sometimes our obstacles are for us to fight, sometimes we need to shift direction.

May G-d grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

May you have peace within your heart, within your soul.
